Topics include:
- Explore the different types of colitis (e.g. ulcerative colitis, Crohn’s colitis) and the associated risk factors.
- Learn about potential complications of colitis, including how they may impact overall health and quality of life.
- Review various treatment and management strategies, including lifestyle adaptations, dietary considerations, and managing flare-ups.
- Understand potential triggers for clients and learn strategies to help them avoid these triggers effectively.
- Learn about emergency medications, their purpose, and whether they may be necessary for client care.
- Explore the practical support that clients with colitis may require in their daily lives.
- Recognise the importance of providing emotional support as part of a carer’s role, ensuring holistic care for clients.
- Develop person-centred care approaches that prioritise client dignity, independence, and well-being.
