Course Aims
This eLearning course aims to introduce you to the topic of safeguarding children and young people.

It then introduces the statutory framework concerning the rights, safeguarding and protection of a child or young person. This includes the Children Act 1989, The Children Act 2004 and Sexual Offences Act 2003.
You will then consider the definitions of safeguarding, protection, child maltreatment and explore the risk factors that can make a child or young person more vulnerable to abuse.
