Course Description:

This Emergency Paediatric First Aid course is designed to provide individuals working with or caring for children with the essential skills and knowledge to respond to paediatric emergencies confidently and effectively. The course covers key first aid techniques tailored to infants and children and meets UK regulatory requirements.

Topics include:

  • Be able to assess emergency situations and prioritise appropriate actions.
  • Learn how to manage and treat an unconscious child or infant safely.
  • Understand how to deliver effective Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) for children and infants.
  • Gain the skills to provide basic bleeding control for wounds and injuries.
  • Recognise the signs of shock and treat a child or infant appropriately.
  • Understand how to assist a child or infant experiencing a seizure.
  • Learn how to recognise and respond to anaphylaxis, including the use of auto-injectors.
