It provides an overview of various types of brain injuries, their severity, causes, and the impacts on individuals.
Learners will be introduced to the structure and function of the brain, cover the complications and conditions leading to acquired brain injuries, the risk factors associated with these causes, and the presenting symptoms. Learners will gain insight into the ongoing effects of acquired brain injuries and how they can be addressed and supported through a holistic multidisciplinary approach.
The course will further explore how to support individuals with acquired brain injuries, including the role of family and friends, and will cover care options in NHS and private settings, as well as self-administered care and community-based care. It will also address medication management.
