This adrenal failure training course provides essential knowledge and practical skills for individuals working in care environments, as well as for family members supporting individuals with adrenal insufficiency. It offers a clear understanding of adrenal failure, its causes, symptoms, and its impact on individuals’ daily lives.
Learners will be introduced to the role of the adrenal glands, their function in the body, and the complications that arise when they fail to produce sufficient hormones. The course will address risk factors, presenting symptoms, and the potential consequences of untreated adrenal failure, including adrenal crisis.
The training will focus on treatment and management strategies, including daily maintenance, lifestyle considerations, and the importance of recognising triggers that could lead to an adrenal crisis. Learners will practice essential skills such as drawing up medication and (where appropriate) administering intramuscular (IM) injections during emergencies.
