This Catheterisation training course is designed for carers and healthcare professionals, who are responsible for performing catheterisation on male, female, and suprapubic patients. Drawing on guidance and best practice, it provides participants with the essential knowledge and practical skills to perform safe, effective, and person-centred catheter care.
The course covers the anatomical differences relevant to catheterisation, the reasons for using different types of catheters, and the proper techniques for handling, inserting, and changing them. It includes hands-on practice using a manikin for male, female, and suprapubic (as relevant) catheterisation procedures, ensuring delegates gain confidence and increased competence in their caring role.
