Course Description:

This Mental Health Awareness training course is designed for carers, healthcare professionals, and support staff to increase understanding of mental health conditions and their impact on individuals. The training explores common mental health challenges, how to recognise early signs of mental health difficulties, and strategies to provide support and promote well-being.

Learners will develop skills to communicate effectively and empathetically, reduce stigma, and create an environment that fosters mental health awareness and resilience. The course can be personalised to the participants requirements and can be delivered as a half day or full day session.

Topics include:

  • Understand what mental health is and the factors that can impact it.
  • Recognise common mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and stress.
  • Identify early warning signs of mental health difficulties and how to respond appropriately.
  • Develop strategies to support individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
  • Learn how to communicate effectively and empathetically about mental health.
  • Understand the importance of reducing stigma and promoting mental well-being in care settings.
  • Explore self-care techniques for carers and staff to maintain their own mental health.
