Course Description:

This Paediatric Basic Life Support (BLS) training course is designed for carers, healthcare professionals, and individuals responsible for the care of infants and children. It provides essential knowledge and practical skills to recognise and respond to life-threatening situations involving children, ensuring appropriate emergency care is delivered quickly and effectively.

Learners will gain a thorough understanding of paediatric life support protocols, including CPR techniques, managing choking, and the safe use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs) on infants and children. Practical sessions will allow participants to develop confidence in delivering emergency care during critical situations.

  • The principles of Paediatric Basic Life Support
  • How to assess an unresponsive infant or child
  • Correct techniques for performing CPR on infants and children
  • How to manage a choking infant or child effectively
  • The safe use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) in paediatric emergencies.
