
Mental Capacity
Course Aims:
This Mental Capacity course is designed to help you learn about the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA) and to show you how you can put the requirements into practice in your role as a health and social care worker, meeting the expectations in Health and Social Care.
Health and social care workers are involved in supporting individuals with their daily living and the decisions that they make. It is important that you understand the individuals’ rights in making choices and decisions, and know how to enable them to make informed choices and decisions.
Mental Capacity is not mandatory but is an expectation of stakeholders, including the Care Quality Commission.
It is recommended that this course is completed alongside all mandatory subjects.
Accreditation: This course is CPD certified, links to Level 2–3 Health and Social Care Diploma and to Care Certificate Standard 9: Awareness of mental health, dementia and learning disability.
