Moving and Handling

Course Aims:

In the course of their work, social care workers may support an individual to move and reposition.

As professionals, they have a ‘duty of care’ to ensure that every individual is supported safely with moves.

Moving and Handling is a mandatory training subject that must be completed before supporting any vulnerable individual in a professional capacity.

This moving and handling course will provide learners with an introduction to safe manual handling practices, including safe and unsafe moves, how to protect their back, and how to operate equipment.

This course is suitable for care staff working in domiciliary care where they have to work remotely in the community. It is also suitable for staff working in an Extra Care setting where a domiciliary care service is provided.
